Rookie detective Jeong-Min (Kim Dong-Wuk) finds difficulties with his new job. His boss doesn’t like him, he has to secretly prepare for a public service exam, and the local residents are up in arms over a serial killer that the police can’t catch. A protest is then organized in front of the police station by the local residents. To Jeong-Min’s horror, his own mother leads the protest as she works as the general affairs manager for the women’s association. The residents are particularly peeved that the serial killer is causing the value of their homes to drop. Jeong-Min then decides that he will catch the serial killer once and for all.

One day while chasing a purse-snatcher, he comes across a beautiful convenience store cashier and part-time martial arts master named Eun-jin (Yoon So-yi, making her feature debut), whom he finds about to deliver a devastating “palm blast” to the young thug he’s just chased down. Eun-jin’s aim is off, and Yu ends up knocked unconscious. She brings him back home to the temple of the “Seven Masters,” a group of five cranky ch’i masters led by her father, Ja-un (Ahn Sung-Ki from Nowhere to Hide and Slimido). Synopsis

Spring 2005, Okinawa. It’s the wedding of Sawamura Seiji’s second daughter, Seiko (Fujisawa Ema). Miwa (Harada Mieko), her mother, is watching over her beloved daughter with a smiling face. The eldest daughter, Asuka (Ito Ayumi), who slipped out of the party to watch the sea alone, is holding preciously a book… This is the diary of a deceased father addressed to his daughters.

1974, Okinawa. Graduated from university, Seiji (Inagaki Goro) is working at Okinawa’s central hospital as trainee. While learning by himself American-style medecine, he is working hard to become doctor. Seiji is going out with Miwa (Konno Mahiru), pharmacist and Okinawa-ian beauty. He then marries her. He is living a happy life in Okinawa but his dream is to change Japan’s medical system. He then decides to move to Nagano where he hopes one day to establish a new hospital. Miwa is now pregnant and Seiji is still hopefully following his dreams. The birth of Asuka, their first daughter, fulfills Seiji who shows everyday his happiness. However, Seiji is suddenly told that a malignant tumour is visible on his right knee and has to be amputated soon. “I won’t be able to work as doctor. While eating skewered tempura at a street vendor, young reporter Choi Soo-jin accidentally sticks the skewer into the side of a detective, Kang Jae-hyuk, who was chasing a suspected criminal. After this encounter, Soo-jin is told to work on a story about a detective, and the detective turns out to be Jae-hyuk. Soo-jin joins his crackdown on drug dealers, and the two start to fall in love.
