Min moves to Japan following his professor father. One day at a local shrine, he meets a beautiful Japanese girl with innocent eyes. Her name is Nanae, and she is an aspiring painter. Min falls for her at first sight, and soon learns that Nanae attends the same school to which Min has just transferred. They become friends, and despite the culture and language barriers it is an intense friendship. When his grandmother suddenly falls ill, Min hastily returns to Korea but can’t get in touch with Nanae beforehand. After his grandmother regains her health, he hurries back to Japan to reunite with Nanae, but she is nowhere to be found. Had his true feelings for Nanae not been apparent to her? Why has Nanae disappeared without a word?

Sweet and easygoing Eun Ho (Yoo Jin) grew up in a normal middle-class household with a strict and traditional father. Willful plastic surgeon Ki Baek (Ha Suk Jin) was born into a wealthy family, and has the ego to match his income. Their two worlds collide quite literally when they meet through a paragliding accident. It’s a classic case of opposites attract as they fight, falter, and fall in love, but their incompatible families are determined to break them apart.

A touring program producer Min-joo, takes notes in her journal whenever and wherever she travels, so one day she can show all those amazing places to her longtime lover Hyun-woo. Finally Hyun-woo passes the bar exam and proposes to Min-joo. However, not long after, Min-joo dies when the department store where she was waiting for Hyun-woo collapses. Hyun-woo becomes a prosecutor, but when he digs too deeply in a sensitive political case, he ends up in detention. While in detention (five years after Min-joo’s death), Min-joo’s parents send him Min-joo’s journal, which gives him a road to trace all the memories of his lost lover.

Ju Young-ju, an beautiful ex-con artist who has been recently released on parole, is planning to attend her sister’s weeding. On her way she crosses path with Choi Hee-chul, a shy and unsure young man who is on his way to see his girl friend in Seoul. By a small series of unexpected events, the precious ring that Hee-chul planned to give to his girl friend end up in Young-ju possession, which at the same time, loose her bag. With only information she had chance to gather on Choi Hee-chul, she decides to find him, give him back the ring and take back her bag. However, at the moment of giving back the ring, her old lying habit kick back and obviously, hilarity and adventure ensues.

Ju-eyon and Seong-tae have been best friends ever since they first met each other 10 years ago. But in one night their 10 year friendship comes crashing to the ground after they sleep together. The comfort and security of marriage is a siren call, and the two decide to forego their ideals to spend their first day as man and wife. However, their perfect lover soon appears right in front of them: A sexy editor appears to seduce Seong-tae and an advertising director appears to tempt Ju-yeon. With a single smile they turn the newlyweds’ dream into a nightmare. Even after only a few days, they soon find themselves faced with the worst choice of their lives as they struggle to reach happiness.

When The Quiet Family was put on screen amid high expectations of a box-office hit, cinema magazines did special features on spooky films of korea. However, this film is far different from the horror movies of the 1960s and 1970s that usually dealt with a pre-modern ghost with a sharp shrill. If one has to find a previous production that inherited any hints of traditional Korean horror movie to TheQuiet Family, it would be Director Sang-ok Shin’s Her Miserable Life.

The Quiet Family appeals more to young spectators well accumstomed to the sentiment and sensitivity of modern cinema than to the older fans who are well-versed in the idiomatic expressions of the old Korean horror movies. The stylistic actions, simple shooting style, fast-developing episodes, and superficial approach to the many characters would be the attractive factors. Therefore, the spectators would better give up any expectations for a female ghost when the old woman appearing in the early part of the movie disappears. Another decisive difference between this film and other Korean horror movies is that, here, the spectators are encouraged to reserve their judgment on the reality of the episodes. In other words, this film, like the fantastic movies of the West, has the system of inducing the hesitation of the spectators concerning their judgment on whether the incidents in the film are real or just a fantasy. Mi-na who narrates and adjourns this film is watching television all the time. Then, is The Quiet Family a fantasy born from this quiet yet weird girl’s boring life or the uninteresting TV dramas.

The “Seven Cutter” is a legend around high schools across the country. His name is Han Su and he remains unbeaten throughout the school system. Whoever tries to fight him not only faces the indignity of losing but is left with Han-Su’s trademark 7cm scar to remind them of their loss.

When innocent new kid Han Su (An Jae Mo - Haan, Birdcage Inn) starts at Seong Ji High School, he is instantly mistaken for the “Seven Cutter”. He is blissfully unaware of why the other students are giving him such an icy reception, and so when the toughest boy at Seong Ji challenges Han Su to a fight, he has no choice but defend himself. And when he accidentally wins, things start getting really confusing for Han Su. Also starring comedian Jung June Ha and former Baby VOX member Yoon Eun Hye (Goong) in her big screen debut.
