Description: This beautifully moving drama is based on the real-life struggles of a 15-year-old girl named Aya who suffered from an incurable disease, but lived life to the fullest until her death at 25. The script is based on the diary Aya kept writing until she could no longer hold a pen. The book that later followed entitled “One Litre of Tears” has sold over 1.1 million copies in Japan alone.
Fifteen year old Ikeuchi Aya was just a normal girl, soon to be high school student and daughter of a family who works at a shop that makes tofu. As time passed, unusual things started happening to Aya lately. She started falling down often and walks in a strange way. Her mother Shioka, takes Aya to see the doctor, and he informs Shioka that Aya has spinocerebellar degeneration - a terrible disease where the cerebellum of the brain gradually deteriorates to the point where the victim cannot walk, speak, write, or eat. A cruel disease, as it does not affect the mind in the least. How will Aya react when told about her disease? And how will Aya live from now on?

Hi Everybody!
1リットルの涙 (Ichi rittoru no namida) is really deeply touching J-drama! One of the saddest J-drama I have seen so far. You’ll really cry 1 litre of tears about 90% of the time watching it. You bet!
I do choose 02 pretty nice songs from the whole Amazing Soundtrack:
(1) 粉雪 (Kona Yuki) by レミオロメン(Remioromen) for 池内亜也 (Ikeuchi Aya) X 麻生遥 (Asou Haruto) scenes.
(2) “Only Human” by K that reminded me 木藤亜也 (Kitou Aya)´s all the pain lived for her.
I do believe in fact that this drama was based on a real story makes this truly heart moving, even heart breaking.
It was nice surprise to see, in 02 scenes, I guess, 池内亜也 (Ikeuchi Aya) in a shirt with the inscription “BRAZIL” and the Brazilian flag embroidered!!!
Every scene came across a large dose of emotion. And there’s no way you not to feel it! You will definitely change after watching “1リットルの涙 (Ichi rittoru no namida)”, you will start to appreciate your life and other people.
沢尻エリカ (Sawajiri Erika) in playing 池内亜也 (Ikeuchi Aya), very very outstanding!!!
A Must Watch J-drama! This was an absolutely splendid drama; everything from the actors’ performances, the story to the Soundtrack! I highly recommend it!!!
